Alarm not ringing on iPhone?
YSYL uses two different alarm systems depending on your iOS version. On iOS 26 and newer, it uses AlarmKit for the most reliable alarm experience. On older iOS versions, it falls back to local notifications, which depend more heavily on your notification and Focus settings.
iOS 26+
Guaranteed path
YSYL uses AlarmKit when available. If this path is active, your alarm should be much more reliable, even when the app is not open.
Below iOS 26
Best-effort fallback
YSYL uses local notifications. This can still work well, but it is more affected by notification permissions, sounds, and Focus or Do Not Disturb settings.
Start here first
- Open YSYL and make sure your wake alarm is still enabled and set for the correct time.
- After changing any iPhone permission, go back into YSYL and save your alarm again so the next alarm gets re-scheduled.
- Check the Alarm reliability label in YSYL. If it says Guaranteed (iOS 26+), you are on the AlarmKit path. If it says Best-effort fallback, you are on the notification path.
- Make sure your iPhone is not in Low Power Mode right when you are testing edge cases. It should not break AlarmKit, but it can make troubleshooting harder when multiple system behaviors change at once.

When to contact support
If you have already re-enabled the right permissions, saved the alarm again, and tested with a near-future alarm on a real iPhone, but YSYL still does not ring, include these details when you report the issue:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- Whether YSYL showed `Guaranteed (iOS 26+)` or `Best-effort fallback` on the alarm settings screen.
- Whether Alarm access and Notifications were enabled for YSYL.
- Whether a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb was active during the failed alarm.
